Army SBIR Phases and Schedule
To respond to critical Army needs as they arise, ASA(ALT) – the Army’s Chief Scientist – releases SBIR topics on a rolling basis on an always-open Broad Agency Announcement (BAA), which maximizes the initial cash-flow for companies while minimizing the time to contract.
The AFC SBIR and STTR Programs develop a set of research topics that represent the Army’s current and anticipated war-fighting technology needs and release topics during three specific solicitation periods throughout the fiscal year.

Army STTR Phases and Schedule
For the Army STTR Program, traditional Phase I funds are typically a six-month timeframe with awards that are generally up to $173K. Traditional Phase II funds are typically a 24-month timeframe with awards that are generally up to $1.15M. View the upcoming schedule.
